The restaurant and inn “is temporarily closed due to the passing of owner Drew Friedman. Plans are in motion to reopen Weston’s beloved landmark," says a post from the staff. "We have always been committed to being there for the community and our commitment will not change. Thank you everyone for your support and please join us in our future endeavors as we embark on our transition period.”
The website also says the staff will work with anyone who has an event planned in the next several weeks at the Cobb's Mill Inn.
It does not explain why the establishment is closed or when it is due to reopen.
Drew Friedman, 86, a noted real estate developer, died at his Westport home Saturday. He bought the Cobb’s Mill Inn in 2011.
The doors had been locked at the Cobb’s Mill Inn in Weston on Monday afternoon by a representative of the bank, the Weston Forum reported.
