So who was Liam with first...Steffy or Hope? - The Bold and the Beautiful
I have not been watching B&B for too long, but was curious on the history of Hope, Liam and Steffy. I know there was a love triangle thing going on between them, but never really knew who was with who first? I am glad that Steffy has Finn now, BUT also know that her and Liam had a strong bond once.
I didn’t watch the beginning of the triangle but from what I’ve read on this message board and others I believe it was Hope.
Correct me if I’m wrong anyone.

Liam and Hope were together first but it wasn’t long before Steffy was in the picture. He has been back and forth between them several times. As said on this site, just like Ridge, Brooke and Taylor.

SC tested with JMW. When she left for a while they went with LOPE instead. Liam was a trickster and opportunist at first. So, I wonder if they went with STEAM first, might have Liam remained a trickster. One of my favorite moments is Stephanie, Sr., chasing Liam around that island after what he did to Steffy’s presentation. Then they made him so-called “good” in order to be paired with Hope.

Seems to be some debate over who that entitles to ownership, but as with Ridge - the Logans have claimed it…lol

Hope and Liam were together first . I can’t remember if the first interloper in their relationship was Amber or Steffy though. It all gets jumbled together lol.

Amber was … she wanted a rich baby daddy. Made Liam think they had sex (did not) When that drama was over … Steffy by then was into Bill Sr. looking to break up Katie and Bill the never did the deed because Katie had a heart attack. Supposedly he realized he loved Katie and broke it off with Steffy . Steffy slipped in the tub at the penthouse she bought and Liam saved her from drowning she then transferred her affection to Liam and went after him full force.

Hope and Liam were together first, its a soap so even before Steffy Lope was always in turmoil. There was a lot of focus on how Hope was an Angel that was opposite her mother. Steffy was the bad girl and first started with wanting to be with Bill but he stayed with Katie after her heart attack. I personally didn’t like the way Hope was portrayed so I was always team steffy lol They even had an episode where Steffy lost the first steam baby nicknamed by the forums as baby aspen and Hope was at the hospital trying to win Liam back. That plus the way that Beth was made have always made me hate Liam and overall I’m so glad Steffy is free of him and that hes stuck with Hope.

When Bill broke that involvement off, he sent Liam to Steffy to return his key to her apt. Liam had to use the key to get into the apartment. He sees Steffy underwater in the tub. Steffy had hit her head & Liam saved her from drowning. That put Liam in Steffy’s orbit. I was amazed at the speed Steffy turned off her feelings for Bill and turned them on for Liam. This was how the ongoing Debate of Steffy vs Hope fans commenced.
For me, watching all that play out, I called it “ The Seductress vs the Virgin”.
Hope, “The Virgin”, caught Liam kissing Steffy, “The Seductress” on the night of Liam’s bachelor party. Feeling hurt and betrayed, she reacts by leaving her engagement ring on Liam’s mantle. Liam found the ring, Feeling hurt upon finding the ring Liam found solace by jumping into bed with Steffy. The next morning Liam rewarded Steffy with the same ring Hope left on the mantle. Then the newly engaged couple ran off to Aspen and came back married!
So “who was Liam with first “ has a slew of meanings.

From what I recall, it took Steffy about 2 weeks to go from being completely in love with Bill to having an undeniably “special connection” with Liam after her bathtub incident. Liam and Hope were together when this happened and soon after were engaged. Steffy aggressively pursued Liam, used dirty tricks, kept insisting they were meant for each other, that she was now completely “in love” with him.
Steffy eventually got Liam to kiss her, Hope saw, left her engagement ring on Liam’s mantle, and the same night Liam proposed to Steffy with Hope’s ring, they were off to Aspen with Bill’s help to get married ASAP so Liam wouldn’t have time to change his mind. Hope rushed to Aspen and got trapped in a gondola by Bill but had a great view of Liam and Steffy getting married below.
Couldn’t stand Steffy for a long time because of all that. I like her better now and especially since she’s out of the Triangle of He!! part 2. Liam was an idiot then and still is, but I’ve always preferred him with Hope and think they are better suited.

Actually it was over two years later AFTER Hope repeatedly dumped Liam and cheated on him several times with Oliver.

I thought it was a party bill had thrown for him to introduce him or something…….and Hope was jealous because all the attention was on LLL. Hope wanted to leave…mind you I might be completely wrong.,

Steffy told him she wanted to tell her mother since she would be the only one happy for her/them.

Let’s take this one step at a time:
The morning after the proposal, Steffy told LLL, Kelly’s father, he could take back the proposal if he wanted to. He said no.
LLL, Kelly’s father, asked Steffy how she wanted to celebrate their engagement. She said she wanted to tell her mother since she would be the only one happy for her/them.
They invited Taylor over to tell her. Taylor was worried about the quickness of the engagement.
LLL, Kelly’s father, left them alone to talk, and he went to see Bill to tell him.
It was Bill’s decision about the Aspen trip as an engagement trip for the two of them.
IF LLL, Kelly’s father, wanted to see Hope to talk to her, why didn’t he go see her after leaving SP? Did he lose the way to Brooke’s house? This is where Hope was living at the time.
On the trip to Aspen, Steffy and LLL, Kelly’s father, were celebrating their engagement. LLL, Kelly’s father, bought two tickets to go up to the top of Ajax Mountain. Steffy told him to go ahead, she will meet up with him.
Steffy purchased two wedding rings and a dress to marry in.
Steffy approached LLL, Kelly’s father, and proposed they marry right there right now. He said yes.
Meanwhile, Hope decided to go after LLL, Kelly’s father, even though he was on his engagement trip.
Now my knowledge of gondola, but they stop for each car for passengers to get on and off. There was a camera crew heading to the top of the mountain, and it took longer for them to load their equipment. This caused the gondola to take longer to load and to get moving.
Little miss I am chasing an engaged man on his engagement trip got a bird’s eye view of him marrying his fiance.
